After spending literally millions promoting the big lie that the 2020 Election was “stolen”, Mike Lindell was sued by both Smartmatic, and Dominion Voting Systems because he had libelled them by falsely claiming that they had rigged the election.
I must admit, it takes a truly special kind of stupid to vigorously libel billion dollar corporations who have the smartest of smart lawyers on speed dial. Call the CEO a twit or an idiot and they will simply roll their eyes and move on (unless they have the first name “Elon). However, promote stuff that seriously impacts their business and you are toast.
Lindell’s response to the lawsuits was to simply launch his own counter suits.
The update this past week is this …
A U.S. district judge ordered MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to pay some of voting machine company Smartmatic’s court costs and fees, saying in a ruling on Thursday that some of Lindell’s claims against Smartmatic fall “on the frivolous side of the line.”
“The Court agrees with Smartmatic that Lindell has asserted at least some groundless claims,” U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols wrote in his ruling.
“In particular, the Court concludes that at the very least Lindell’s claim against Smartmatic under the Support or Advocacy Clause falls on the frivolous side of the line (other claims do too). As a result, the Court orders Lindell and his previous counsel to pay some of the fees and costs Smartmatic has incurred defending itself and moving for sanctions,” he added.
Nichols also granted motions from Smartmatic, Dominion Voting Systems and Hamilton Place to dismiss the lawsuits against them.
Beyond that good news that has also been other really good news from the primaries as well. Madison Cawthorn lost.
One word … Yea.
To be honest, it was not really a surprise. His claim that he had been invited to orgies by Republican colleagues did not help. Nor did the photos that featured him dressed in women’s lingerie or the video of him butt naked dry humping a male colleague help either. It turns out that none of that is a vote winning strategy. Who knew.
